The beleaguered Jacksonville Jaguars were left depleted at wide receiver Monday after Troy Williamson was lost for the season with a torn labrum and Nate Hughes was waived. Hughes was the victim of his two drops in the end zone in the fourth quarter of the 31-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but the move was still somewhat surprising because of Williamson's injury. General manager Gene Smith had the authority to make the move, but Del Rio said he also discussed it with him. This is the second week in a row the Jaguars have cut a player after a poor performance. The victim last week was defensive end James Wyche. Williamson's departure means that rookies Mike Thomas and Jarett Dillard, who were both inactive the first two games, will likely make their debuts against the Houston Texans on Sunday. They'll join Torry Holt and Mike Sims-Walker as the team's four wide receivers. (Florida Times Union)
