The News LeSean McCoy was solid in Brian Westbrook's absence on Sunday night, carrying the ball 20 times for 99 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's 24-20 win over the Bears. Our View He also lost a fumble, however. Regardless, he looks like a more than capable fill-in for Westbrook in both fantasy and real life.

In an NFC East divisional showdown between Philadelphia and Dallas, Eagles running back Brian Westbrook is not expected to play, according to two league sources. Westbrook suffered a concussion two weeks ago against the Washington Redskins. Many assumed that, after missing last week's game, Westbrook would play Sunday night against the Cowboys even though he was listed as questionable. But to be safe, Eagles coach Andy Reid now is expected to rest Westbrook at least another week to recuperate from a severe blow to the head. Without Westbrook, rookie second-round pick LeSean McCoy once again would start at running back. (ESPN)

There's still an air of uncertainty about whether or not Brian Westbrook will play Sunday night against the Cowboys. The Eagles' running back was withheld from practice Friday after taking most of the first-team reps on Wednesday and Thursday and is listed on the team's official report as "questionable" - a 50 percent chance to play, in NFL jargon. But coach Andy Reid seemed to suggest that Westbrook would play and was only held out of practice because of the recent workload. "He's had two hard days of work and, really, the young kid [LeSean McCoy] hasn't gotten a ton of reps," Reid said. "Like I've done on some other Fridays, I kept Brian out." The uncertainty lies in the injury report. The fact that he's still on the report almost two weeks after sustaining a concussion against the Redskins shows that, at very least, the head injuury remains somewhat concerning to the coaches. Paul Domowitch, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles FB Leonard Weaver saw increased playing time in Week 8 because of the absence of RB Brian Westbrook (concussion). Weaver saw most of the time in one-back sets because he was a better pass blocker than RB LeSean McCoy. He also got eight carries for a career high 75 yards during the game. When Westbrook returns to the lineup, Weaver likely will return to his job as the lead blocker.
