Choice In Line For Larger Workload
2009-10-20 FFTodayRunning back Marion Barber will continue to start for the Dallas Cowboys, but backup Tashard Choice will get more carries, owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on his weekly radio show. Barber suffered a thigh injury against the New York Giants on Sept. 20, and he's still not fully recovered heading into Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. "I can tell you Barber is going to be in better shape than he was last week or two weeks ago," Jones said. "But Tashard has certainly earned and is going to get a big part of the load." Choice started three games last season while Barber was injured and rushed for 234 yards and one touchdown on 53 attempts. Choice was supposed to be the Cowboys' third-down back this season, but he's moved up the depth chart after injuries to Barber and Felix Jones (knee). (ESPN Dallas)

2009-10-03 FanballThe News ESPN is reporting that even with Marion Barber likely to play on Sunday, Tashard Choice will serve as the Cowboys' feature back. Our View Choice rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on just 18 carries in Barber's absence last week, and the Cowboys feel comfortable with him handling the load until Barber and Felix Jones both get back to 100 percent health. With the Cowboys leading the NFL with 193.7 rushing yards per game, Choice is a strong play, even against Denver's stingy run defense.
