Week 12 Fantasy Highlights: Early Games

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta FalconsBuccaneers Falcons Football

The Bucs lost a rare opportunity for a win. Josh Freeman threw for 250 yards and two scores. Antonio Bryant caught a touchdown and had 91 yards receiving.

Matt Ryan and Michael Turner left the game with injuries and neither returned. Chris Redman filled in admirably for Ryan. He hooked up with Roddy White and Jerious Norwood for touchdowns in the comeback win.

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

Ricky Williams has been a nice play in Ronnie Brown’s absence. He rushed for over 100 yards for the third straight week and scored a touchdown. He also had an interception.

The Bills offense scored more than 30 points for only the second time this year. Terrell Owens caught a touchdown and had 96 yards receiving. Fred Jackson had a big day as well. He scored two touchdowns and accounted for 116 yards of total offense.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

The Browns lost another game thanks to an inept offense. Brady Quinn scored the lone Browns’ touchdown on a nine yard run.

The Bengals got most of their offense from Shayne Graham who was three for three on field goals including a 53 yarder.

Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams

Fantasy owners who thought Matt Hasselbeck was a good start against the Rams were sorely disappointed. He laid a huge egg. He had 102 yards passing and no scores. Justin Forsett carried the Seahawks offense. He scored two touchdowns on 130 yards rushing.

For the Rams, Steven Jackson turned in the only game of note. He had eighty nine yards rushing, a rushing touchdown and twenty seven yards receiving.

Carolina Panthers at New York Jets

The Panthers’ offense struggled mightily against the Jets. Jake Delhomme had four interceptions and only 126 yards passing, which in most leagues would have been negative fantasy points on the day.

The Jets’ defense stole the fantasy show for Big Green on the strength of a defensive touchdown, four takeaways and three sacks. Thomas Jones found the end zone and rushed for seventy five yards.

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles

Jason Campbell accounted for three touchdowns but also had two interceptions. Fred Davis and Santana Moss each caught a touchdown in a valiant loss.

The Eagles won largely due to David Akers’ four field goals. DeSean Jackson caught a touchdown for the second week in a row.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Peyton Manning owners must have been worried after he threw two early picks, but the upside was Peyton had to throw most of the game after the Colts got down early. Manning finished with three touchdowns on 244 yards passing. Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne each caught a touchdown.

The Texans got close but couldn’t close the deal yet again. Matt Schaub hasn’t thrown for more than two touchdowns in the last four weeks and has topped 300 yards only twice in the same span. He continued both streaks with 284 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also had three turnovers.
