Contentious Starts and Sits: Week 11

This is our take on take on starts and sits. We aren’t going to tell you to start you stud RB against some awful defense, but we might convince you your WR3 is going to play like a WR1. We also will be updating the post throughout the week as this data gets stale, fast.

A = Awful Announcing, B = B, and G = Guido

WEEK 11: Posts

Guido is out this week …

Quarterbacks
A B G Player OPP
Joe Flacco IND
A:The Ravens looked bad against Cleveland, but Indy should be a welcome DB: If your team can’t score more than 16 against CLE then you are a permanent sit!
Matt Ryan NYG
A:Looks to be in the midst of a sophomore slump, and the Giants coming off a bye week won’t help.B:I think the Giants are looking to reestablish their defensive presence and are going to focus on Ryan now that Turner is out.
Carson Palmer OAK
B: Oakland is like a playground for running backs. Don’t expect that Cincinnati has to air it out much. Especially if Benson plays …
Running Backs
A B G Player OPP
Jonathan Stewart MIA
A:I dropped him earlier in the year, but both he and Williams are putting up TDs each week.B: Against a MIA without Ronnie brown I think Panthers will have plenty of opportunity to control the clock with their double barreled running attack.
Jammal Charles PIT
A: Everyone went crazy after last week, but a date against the Steelers will knock him back down. B: Just about any running back can put up impressive numbers against Oakland. Sit!
Justin Forsett MIN
A:See above, but instead of Pittsburgh he’s facing Minnesota. B: This is sort of an obvious sit, but its not a strong sit for me. Forsett is small and quick and may find some holes that he can create big runs through. I think Seattle is going to be putting points on the board and won’t abandon the run early.
Bernard Scott OAK
B:If Benson sits then Scott is a great play against Oakland.
LaDainian Tomlinson DEN
B: I thought he was done and then goes and averages 4 y/r against PHI, putting up 96 yards and 2 TDs. Betts and the Skins ran right through Denver, expect San Diego to do the same with their rejuvenated Tomlinson.
Wide Receivers
A B G Player OPP
DeSean Jackson] CHI
A: Expect the Eagles to get him involved early and often.
Chad Ochocinco OAK
A: Just have a feeling he’s going to get in the endzone in Oakland. B: Its a risky play against Oakland. If you have anyone in a tighter game, you may want to start them instead.
Kevin Walter TEN
B: The question during the bye has had to have been, ‘How do we replace Daniels?’. Look to this critical game to be the real test as to whether the answer was Walter. I have a feeling his average looks (~6) will go up to around ten this game and he will pull down a TD.
Mike Sims-Walker BUF
B: The Bills are going to be run over by the running game, but expect Mike to get a redzone TD pass or two. An every week starter these days. Just a reminder …
Sidney Rice DET
B: I think the Seahawks are going to figure out a way to make this competitive which means Favre’s favorite target (I’m sure he doesn’t get tired of hearing that) is going to see quite a few looks.
Miles Austin WAS
B: Austin has been slowing down recently (5 receptions and 1 TD in the last two), but his big-playability should be relied on once again as he tries to mimick the field day Marshall has against the Skins a week earlier.
Calvin Johnson CLE
B: Last week Johnson was targeted a season high 13 times by Stafford and pulled down 8 of those. This week against CLE Johnson is going to pay owners back for his high draft pick … well, maybe start to pay it off.
Tight Ends
A B G Player OPP
Todd Heap CLE
B: I sat him last week and he caught a pedestrian 4 for 43 yards. The real troubling trend here is his targets have been decreasing. Early in the year he was seeing the occasional 8 or 9 looks, but in the last five weeks he has been averaging 4.
John Carlson DET
B: The Seahawks are going to have to use all of their weapons.
Defenses
A B G Player OPP
New Orleans Saints TB
B:Freeman is going to have a hard time keeping up against the undefeated Saints and will turn the ball over.
Philadelphia Eagles CHO
B:Cutler just through 5 interceptions against SF. You never know when Cutler is going to impload on the field, but I think against Philly he will struggle. He hasn’t thrown a pick-less game since week 4, against Detroit …
Dallas Cowboys WAS
B:I think the Cowboys will be able to keep the Skins points total low, but with how the Skins are running it, I don’t see a lot of sacks or turnovers. Not the easy start everyone is calling it.
New York Jets NE
A:Up against the Patriots who are obviously pissed at themselves. B: You don’t want to be on the business end of a pissed Belichick.
