Quick Hits: Achy Hips, Ankles, and Passer Ratings

Halfway There Football

Brett Favre, QB, MINN- “Favre said he was hurt in practice while rolling out during a drill two weeks ago and aggravated the injury in pregame warmups at Green Bay on Nov. 1. The Vikings didn’t play last week, giving their 40-year-old quarterback extra time to heal. ‘It was a concern for the game. I made it through. With a week’s rest I think I’ll be fine,’ Favre said Wednesday. (yahoo)

Terrel Owens, WR, BUF- “…Coach Dick Jauron said Owens’ hip began bothering him during the team’s day off on Tuesday, and he noted that the receiver was feeling “very uncomfortable” when he arrived for meetings on Wednesday. It’s unclear how Owens was hurt, because he practiced on Monday after the team returned from a four-day break following its bye.” (USAToday)

Brian Westbrook, RB, PHI- “Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook didn’t practice Wednesday, but it wasn’t because of his post-concussion symptoms that we all thought were sole reason why he didn’t play Sunday night against Dallas. While the fragile running back deals with that as well, head coach Andy Reid said earlier this week that Westbrook is recovering from having some “work” done on his achy right ankle.” (FFToolbox)

Brady Quinn, QB, CLE- “The Cleveland Browns have made yet another quarterback change. Head coach Eric Mangini said Wednesday that quarterback Brady Quinn will start Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Quinn replaces Derek Anderson, who went 1-4 in his five starts and has a 36.2 passer rating, which is about 12 points lower than that of JaMarcus Russell.” (FFToolbox)

Aaron Ross, CB, NYG- “New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross practiced Wednesday for the first time since pulling his left hamstring in training camp in August. ‘This is my livelihood, this is how I feed myself, my family,” Ross said. “Not being able to be out there and do it is very hard. I am very, very, very, very excited to be out there with the guys.’ (yahoo)
