Afternoon Quick Hits 9/14

mcnabbQuarterbacks:

Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia)- McNabb is considered week to week, but I think everyone has the feeling he’s out at least a few weeks. With the way the Eagles have been playing the last five games, Kevin Kolb might be worth a pickup. (ESPN)

Jake Delhomme (Carolina)- Despite having thrown a whopping 9 interceptions in his past two games (Playoffs last year), the Panthers are sticking with Jake the Snake. (The Associated Press)

Tony Romo (Dallas)- Romo tweaked his ankle on Sunday, but Coach Wade Phillips doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about (Dallas Morning News)

Running Backs:

Reggie Bush (New Orleans)- Reggie Bush looked pretty darn bad on Sunday, only racking up 14 yards on 7 carries, but also added two muffed punts to his totals. He did have 5 receptions for 55 yards, but at this point he’s not worth starting (Rotoworld)

Pierre Thomas/Mike Bell (New Orleans)- With Thomas still nursing a bum knee and Reggie Bush looking awful, Coach Sean Payton has a decision to make. Bell looked great on Sunday (again, it was the Lions), so he might be seeing some more carries against the Eagles in Week Two (NOLA.com)

Wide Receivers:

Anthony Gonzalez (Indianapolis)- Gonzalez suffered a pretty bad knee injury yesterday, so you can officially start the “Return of Marvin Harrison Rumors” (The Huddle)

Antonio Bryant (Tampa Bay)- The Bucs plan on monitoring Bryant throughout the week. After a good first game, you can expect Bryant to play with this injury most of the season. (Tampa Bay)

Bernard Berrian (Minnesota)- Berrian saw a lot of action yesterday on the field, but unfortunately caught no passes. Coach Brad Childress, still likes how his #1 looked though, and you can expect the Vikes to open up more as Brett Favre gets more accustomed to the offense. (Rapid Reports)

Defenses:

Brian Urlacher (Chicago)- Urlacher went wrist surgery today, and will likely miss the rest of the 2009 season. Chicago looked good on D for most of the game, until the end, but that division is so loaded with offensive weapons….it might be time to hit the waiver wire.

Monday Night Football News:

Wes Welker (New England)- Welker is listed as questionable, but many think he will see some time tonight. Obviously at this point, it might be too late to bench him, but if a Josh Reed or Joey Galloway might be worth a look. I’d wait until later tonight to make a move though, and we’ll try to update you later on his status. (Twitter: Jason La Confora)

Terrell Owens (Buffalo)- Most of the Boston Media seems to think Owens will be a force tonight. (NESN)

Javon Walker (Oakland)- I’m pretty sure no one on the planet drafted Walker, but he and the team are disagreeing on his readiness, thus leading to him not playing tonight (PFT)

Richard Seymour (Oakland)- The blindsided Seymour, has finally shown up in Oakland. His leadership, could make an already pretty good D, that much better (The Boston Globe)
